The first full record

Megan Woods has been living on singles. The self-titled album, out today, is the first time the songs have to sit in one room. Ten tracks. “The Truth” is still the door most people walk through. The rest of the record is what she does once they are inside.

Play the record

“Heaven Down Here” opens it. “Prayer and A Bible” and “Living Miracle” sit beside “Can’t Do This Alone” and “I Believe You,” written like someone talking to God with the lights still on. “He Answered” and “Royal Blood” keep the last stretch from turning into a victory lap. This is a debut in the old sense: one voice, one argument, enough songs to prove the first hit was not an accident.

Play “The Truth” if you only have three minutes. Stay through “Nowhere Your Love Won’t Go” if you want the record, not the single.
